EXECUTIVES

SALLY CAROTHERS SRA, FRICS, PRESIDENT

Sally Carothers has joined the TrUnion team as President. She will be responsible for leading the company as we transition to a national client base and grow new business with non-credit union lenders. Part of her duties include: managing day to day operations, business development, regulating compliance, quality control, valuation practices, procedures, and escalations. She will oversee panel management, train staff, and provide education for our appraisers.

 

Sally has over thirty years of experience in the Real Estate Appraisal. She graduated from Demontfort University, UK with a BS in Urban Land Management and continued her education her graduate education at the University of Arkansas. She is a Certified General Appraiser in both Ohio and Illinois, a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, and has an SRA Designation from the Appraisal Institute. She is a founding board member, as well as the Executive Director, of the Ohio Coalition of Appraiser Professionals, a member of the Industry Advisory Council of the Appraisal Foundation, and a member of LDAC for the Appraisal Institute.

 

Sally was first licensed in 1992 and began her career in the United States as a staff appraiser with TRW. She was quickly promoted to Assistant Chief Appraiser. Sally left after 5 years of service to start her own appraisal firm. She trained numerous appraisers and taught Appraisal/ Real Estate pre-

 

 

licensing and continuing education classes at the Community College level.  In 2004, she moved to Stickelman and Associates/SVP as the Vice President of their commercial division. While there, she assisted with the launch of SVP, a commercial AMC serving regional Midwest clients. In 2010, she took the position of Operations Manager at TJ McCarthy & Associates, where she managed the operations for the regional appraisal firm, supervising over fifty residential and commercial appraisers. While working, Sally multi-tasked as an adjunct instructor for Hondros College and Columbus State Community College from 2000 to 2005.

 

Sally’s most recent work experience was at Nations Valuations Services, where she was the National Chief Appraiser and Vice President of Quality Control. Sally was responsible for the oversight of their national quality control program and valuation compliance. Prior to this, Sally worked as the Chief Appraiser for CUAS, assisting with the launch of the first dedicated Credit Union AMC. She helped on-board the qualified appraiser panel, established policies and procedures for QC, Customary and Reasonable fee protection, and regulated compliance. Her return to CUAS/TrUnion is a familiar and welcomed addition.

KRISTYN UPDYKE, VP OPERATIONS

Kristyn C. Updyke, VP Operations, received an Associates Degree in Communication at Sinclair Community College with honors in academics and attendance. In 2005, she received her Real Estate Licensure and joined the National Association of Realtors. She has served over twelve years of management experience in the Real Estate Industry with four years as a property manager. Her career began as an Independent Contractor with one of the top ten Real Estate Companies in the Dayton Area. Kristyn’s career continued into becoming a REO Specialist Assistant with Irongate’s Realtors for five years. Her expertise in that field created an opportunity with the VP of Asset Management of Central Bank in Lexington, managing several bank portfolios.  Kristyn is an innovative and driven professional who accelerates in challenging roles.  In her adventure with CUAS, she encourages growth, education and superior customer services with high standards for herself and her team.

K. R. YARNELLI, VP OF CREDIT UNION AND CUSO BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Kim Ray Yarnelli recently joined Trunion Appraisal Services as Vice President of Credit Union and CUSO Business Development. He received a Bachelor Degree from Ball State University. Yarnelli is a veteran credit union executive with an extensive background in financial management. Yarnelli worked for over 27 years as a senior level management executive within the credit union industry. Most recently he was the Vice President of Mortgages at GTE Financial Federal Credit Union.

 

Yarnelli has many professional affiliations including a place on the Fannie Mae Advisory Board, Charlie Mac Advisory Boards, PSCU Servicing Board, ACUMA and CUNA. He actively presents at numerous national trade shows discussing lending products and credit union co-operative structure.
